You may have noticed it’s been a bit quiet on the boat front this week. The reason for that is that I am over 150 miles away from the boat. I am currently exploring the joys of Portsmouth and the surrounding areas.
Obviously whilst I am down here I can’t do any significant work on the boat, but what I have had time to do is play around with the website. I’ve updated some of the widgets on the side-bar. I have decided that mooring fees should NOT be included in the Spunkometer so I have separated those out. This is for two reasons:
- Mooring fees are an ongoing expense and have to be paid regardless and those fees are not directly contributing to the cost of restoring the boat.
- The mooring fees were taking up a large chunk of the budget I’d set and been recording on the Spunkometer. It just feels right taking them out. Plus i gives me some space to at least try and hit the original budget of £5000 to restore the boat. It’s highly unlikely that I will hit that budget, in fact based on what I’ve done so far and how much it has cost, I’m going to be missing that budget by a long country mile.
I’ve installed WooCommerce on the site, in the hope that at some point I can start selling some merchandise, to try and claw back some of the costs. It’s not going to make me a millionaire but it may help. Maybe. Probably not, but worth a shot.
In other much bigger news a name has been decided for the boat. That’s under wraps, for now at least. But watch this space.
I’m also going through old posts and trying to tidy them up a bit so they’re more readable. They’ll never be PG though and that’s the joy of being a foul-mouthed, boat wanker with his own website.
Booyaka Motherfuckers!
