When I first bought the boat it was riddled with cut out holes, which, if I am completely honest never in a million years thought I’d be able to fix, not properly anyway. There was a fair few of them too, some small, some massive. As I’ve worked on various things on the boat I’ve gradually tried fix them as I’ve worked. One of those holes, Walkie Talkie was the very first time I ever used actual fibreglass rather than filler. It was a messy job, both figuratively and quite literally.

As it turns out, the repair of Walkie Talkie has become my proudest achievement on the boat.

On this visit I sanded down the last layer of fibreglass on the hole and then threw some paint at it, and other areas of the cockpit. The result of the day’s work is in a video below and then some pictures comparing how Walkie Talkie started to how it finished. R.I.P. Walkie Talkie, you little motherfucker.
