Yes, I know, it’s been almost 4 months since the last update. What of it? Winter in the U.K. sucks. It’s cold, dark and depressing, a bit like marriage. That’s not to say there’s been no work going on in the background. I just haven’t been updating the website. That said, if you’re not following me on Instagram, it serves you fucking right for not being up to date. I will retrospectively add content forthwith, but for now you’re going to be subjected to a bit of current news.

Over the last few weeks whilst working on the boat I noticed a small dinghy laying about on the embankment on the opposite side of the backwater and wondered whether it belonged to anyone. It didn’t look like it. It cut a forlorn and lonely picture, tied to a tree, reeds and weeds growing within it. I took a gamble and asked one of the boatyard staff whether it belonged to anyone. It didn’t. The boatyard said I was welcome to have it if I wanted it. Too fucking right I did! I now have a stable fleet of boats. Aristotle Onassis I am not, maybe a little funnier, perhaps a little younger, even a little poorer but definitely much better looking. Innit?

One of the “Beasty rules of life”, which I quite often adhere to is: “If you don’t ask, you don’t get.” (I have benefited from this approach a fair amount in my lifetime – but the less said about that, the better). In this case I seem to have played a blinder. Go me!

Here I am rescuing the orphaned boat and probably for the first time in its life, taken it for a walk. The dirty little orphan has tentatively been given the moniker “The Little Turd”.
