Today has been, actually I don’t know how today has been. All I know is I am nowhere near where I wanted to be after 4 straight days at the boat. All I’ll say is it’s been, it is and is going to be a steep learning curve and I am not going to give up. That boat WILL float before my next birthday. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the four days pottering about. It’s made me realise how much I still need to learn and even more so how much I still need to do. Remember this is all structural outside. I’ve yet to do the inside and then there’s the plumbing and electrics. All of which I know sweet fuck all about, but still more than I know about boats.
Anyway enough rambling. Let’s get this shit show on the road.

So yesterday things hadn’t ended very well at all. In fact it was shit, a shower of faecal matter. I was pretty despondent but when I got to the yard today I hoisted my shorts up ala Simon Cowell and got on with stuff. First order of business was to sort that fucking octosphincter out.
Armed with my two new pots of fibreglass paste I set to redoing the work I did previously. Only in a more patient manner. I mixed up my first batch of paste, then my second and my third, waiting patiently between each application waiting for the paste to harden.
I continued doing this until I ran out of paste. Two full tins! I tidied it up and left it to dry more. That took the better part of the day.
I started pottering around inside the hull started cleaning and tidying and formulating a plan of what I was going to do with the cabin. It’s in a state. A much better state than it was before but still essentially a shit tip.
I ripped out a few irritating loose ends that I was unable to do before when the boat was the right way up and even managed to take a few bits off that Fuckwit had glassed in.
It was then I decided that it would be a good idea to test how water tight octosphincter was. Still not completely finished but the bolt holes were sealed…
