It’s time for phone sex baby!
Dude, I don’t think it works like that.
Do you remember that one time at band camp I tried to be a detective? I was rather trying to be a boat genealogist and didn’t get very far. I was trying to determine the origins of my girl simply because it’s always good to get to know the background of that someone special in your life.
I tried asking on the Foxcub Facebook group, yes an actual group of people who all own Foxcubs just like mine. I may have neglected to mention this before now. But yes, it’s an actual thing, and yes I do belong to it. Natch! There are a lot of boat experts but more importantly Foxcub enthusiasts who are all very willing to help when and where they can. Little do they know what they let themselves in for when they accepted my request to join.
After asking how I could identify who she was and her history I received a myriad of answers. Not dissimilar to answers I received previously. The most common answer was, “Look on the mast step.”
Hmm. You know how I feel about people getting all nautical on my arse, so I fired off an additional question: What in the hell of all that is holy is a mast step? It turns out it’s the sticky-out thing on the roof that the mast is attached to. Who. Fucking. Knew? Not I. Well I hunted high and low for this goddamned number but could I find it? Of course I couldn’t. Do you know why? Because Fuckwit had hidden the bastard thing.
By my sublime powers of deduction I figured the mess above was this mystery mast step that all the Boat Wankers were yabbering on about. Christ alone knows what Fuckwit was trying to achieve by building the contraption around it but I had to work my way through the following before I’d realised I’d hit the jackpot:
- Wood
- Rubber
- Fibreglass filler
I persevered though and you can see in the featured image on this post that there is an actual number. Hardly legible but there it was. I tidied it up a bit and managed to get it looking like this.
10962
As you can see it was still a bit of a mess after chipping away at the camouflage. The benefit of having been so tardy at keeping these blogs updated is that I can actually show you a picture of what the mast step looks like now. Dealt with on a separate weekend.
So what have I found out from that number? So far sweet diddly shit. I have tried but so far have not found any information. I’ve not given up yet but I have saved the number on speed-dial. I still don’t know her name.
