You don’t even know the person, how could you possibly judge their driving skills?
Hold my beer and listen carefully. You know how I hate it when people, mainly Boat Wankers go all nautical on my arse? Well I’m afraid I’m going to have to drag myself down to that level so I can explain.

Port is essentially the left hand side of the boat when you’re facing forward. In other words, the driver’s side. Or boater, or whatever the person is called who controls the boat. Let’s pretend for a moment his name is Fuckwit. I’ve alluded to the fact previously that throughout my restoration/clusterfuckery that I’ve noticed a common theme. Generally when you park a boat you come into harbour port side, the driver’s side.

I’ve gotten to know my baby quite intimately and in the process of stripping her down to the bare essentials I’ve noticed a few things. The first clue is the featured image. See that repair on the hull? It indicates that at some time some damage was done. Possibly whilst parking the boat up. I seriously doubt it’s iceberg damage.

Find below a catalogue (not so much a catalogue really) of other evidence that leads me to believe that Fuckwit was either constantly on the rum whilst driving or indeed was just shit at parking.

Note the damage to the window. It’s an actual crack and that crack runs to where the wooden trim used to be. Additionally, if you are close up you can see a lot of repair work to the fibreglass. In addition to said crack, look at the scuff marks under the window. Admittedly that could have happened any time and been caused by anything, even when it was dry docked in Southampton. Thinking about it that should have been a huge clue as to what lay ahead when I started sanding the hull. Yellow in-fucking-deed.

Why would you rip out perfectly good benches and storage lockers and replace them with wooden shite, unless of course there was damage to that side of the boat?

You remember I tried explain about how much I was starting to hate the previous owner because they had fibreglassed in some nuts and bolts inside the boat? Guess which side that was? Corectomundo, port side.

There are other clues, but I can’t post a picture because that would give away a post that will be published soon.

Of course all this evidence is circumstantial, but based on how the previous owner has dealt with some issues I can only deduce that they’re bit “special” and as such cannot drive a boat.

Convinced? I am.
