I know more about boats than I do cars. This is an indisputable fact. I can drive them (just about) and know how to top up petrol and windscreen wash. That’s about as far as my knowledge and skills extend. My lack of interest in cars was a constant source of frustration to my dad, who, knew how to take them apart and put them back together again with his eyes shut.
And this is where this story starts. The very last car my dad ever did any significant work on was a Ford Fiesta, which until recently my mum drove. It’s an old V reg and looks nothing like the accompanying image to this post. It is currently gathering dust in a lock-up in Harlow, but it is taxed, MOT’ed and insured and a few weeks ago had almost £1500 spent on it for repairs.
Jnr has inherited this car from my mum. The little shit does not currently have a driver’s licence so is not getting any use out of the car at all. On one of our drunken escapades we came up with the idea to take the car on a road trip. We eventually decided on going to a fiesta in Spain in the Fiesta. Because, why the fuck not?
I used AI to help me design the basic look of the idea we have for the car, and whilst it may be over the top somewhat it looks pretty cool. To me anyway. Apart from perhaps the colour scheme. As you already know I have 2 other major projects on the go, so this one will be a bit of a slow burner at best. Next year will have been my dad’s 80th birthday and that seems to be a reasonable target. Stay tuned, there’s bound to be a clusterfuck or two.
Booyaka motherfuckers!
