I’m not a gambling man but if I was I’d put money down on Zed throwing an even bigger hissy fit than the last time. Remember I was telling you about how I may have inadvertently buggered up the structural integrity of my boat? Well I’ve doubled down. I’ve sliced a bit of the roof off and then dragged it home so I can work on it during the evenings after work to try and speed up the restoration of the boat.
Again, it’s one of those things I may regret doing but it’s done now, too late. In addition to separating the front part of the roof from the main section I spent a lot of time sanding again today. I’ve sanded the jagged edges that were left on the hull when I removed the roof. Pictures below.
If only I could chop the rest of the boat into bite-size chunks and get them home. Kidding, kidding, even I am not that stupid. I’m sure I won’t be regretting my decision to remove the roof. Well not yet anyway.
I’ve messaged the manager of the yard to ask if they can flip the boat over for me so I can finish sanding below the waterline. Now that there’s no roof it should be easy to flip the hull, and the sanding won’t be as awkward as trying to do so on my back under the boat.
It was a quick half day visit to the boat. I’ve taken some measurements so I can get the wood trim sourced from somewhere. I’m planning on getting two small pots of marine paint too so can do the painting under and around the trim before I attach it.
That’s it a short and almost humourless update. I’ll let you know if Zed needs hospital treatment.
