You lot are getting spoiled. More blogs in a week than in two years. Then again it has been fun and there’s momentum and if I stop it’ll be another while before I crack on. My plan was always to have the boat ready by my birthday. Last year. The plan is now a year late. But better than never eh?
So as you can see I’ve done a bit more work on the section of roof I brought home.I use the word “work” very loosely. A more descriptive word would be “destroy” if your name was Zed. I’ve essentially cut out the middle part of the roof. It was irritating me. I then started to grind harder than a starving lap dancer at a bachelor party. Four fucking hours it took me to get this far, so a work in progress. (Clever clogs will notice the dust covered rudder I set on fire in this picture)
As always the sanding and grinding got boring as hell. Before I move on I suppose I need to explain what the plan is for the section I’m working on (Zed I’m looking at you as I write). You see the small lip on that roof section? It’ll eventually be supporting the extra foot of head space I’m planning to add to the roof. It’ll include two windows. Well that’s the plan anyway.
After hoovering the garage (Yes, I know. Who the fuck even does that?) I got the railings down from the rafters with the intention of cleaning them up. Fuckwit hadn’t bother removing them when he painted and I don’t think they’d seen a clean in at least 10 years. So… a little bit of elbow grease later here they are:
I made a few purchases today too. Some wood trim and some perspex sheets. Not sure what for but I’ll figure that out soon.
Next week I have 4 full days at the boat. I’ll be tramping it in my car for 4 days at the boat yard. I’ve asked the yard to flip the boat over so I can sand the last part of the hull. Stay tuned!
