Right, instead of boring you with multiple posts about what’s gone on for the last 4 months I’ll condense it here and you can supplement your knowledge by going to my Instagram account. It’s the usual serving of loud music, plenty of fuck ups and a win or two, sometimes even three.
- Reached the milestone of driving over 10 000 miles to and from the boat.
- Slapped a metric fuckton of paint all over the show.
- Finally covered up mirror, mirror by using a massive bit of plywood which covered the complete wall in the cockpit. Painted it.
- Side locker covers are on and painted.
- Tidied up the transom cover and painted it.
- Cleaned, and painted the bilge in the cabin.
- Sealed the holes in bulkheads and stringer in bilge to stop spread of water in the bilge to help identify leaks.
- Filled in the circular hole in the cabin roof where the extractor used to be.
- Removed the last couple of bits of hardware from bow deck (Windlass and Chain Guide). Filled those holes too.
- Rebuilt a bulkhead in the cabin.
- Attempted to seal the window frames from the outside with sealant and a caulking gun. Did not go as well as hoped.
- Turned the boat around 180 degrees.
- Bought thick ply boards to use as floor panels in the cabin.
- The boatyard flooded and the boat tried to escape.
That covers pretty much everything. It doesn’t seem to be a lot for 4 months worth of work. I am fast learning that jobs take a lot longer than you expect. More so if you have no skills, no experience and the incorrect tools.
